Alessandra is a qualified translator with a BA in Foreign Languages, an MA in Translation Studies, and a PG diploma in Legal Translation. She spent most of her childhood and adolescence in Italy, where she was born. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in European and American Languages and Culture at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. As she was growing her passion for the English language, she decided to pursue a Master degree in Translation Studies at Bangor University of Wales. She then moved abroad for one year for a full immersion in  British culture and in translation fundamentals. In the UK, she gained a theoretical knowledge concerning this field as well as a practical approach to translation. Moved by her will to enrich and enlarge her translation knowledge, she applied to City University of London for a Postgraduate course in Legal Translation. As she was attending classes, to have a more practical insight of the translation industry, she took a three month internship at a marketing company in London (Freedman International) specialized in localization. There, she worked alongside the operational manager and learned how to administrate translation projects along with fulfilling the tasks of translating, localizing and proofreading advertisement and commercial materials for the company. Once she concluded her internship and obtained her Postgraduate diploma in Legal Translation, she started to work independently as a freelance translator.

Nowadays, Alessandra lives in Boston with her husband and son. Here, she is continuing to follow her love for languages and gaining even more experience as a linguist, translator and project manager. She has created Elettral Translations as the result of her life-long goal and from the desire to grow, improve, and move forward to a new level in her professional life.
